Kyocera default admin password: where to find yours

It depends on when your machine was made, and newer Kyocera devices no longer share one factory password.

Authorised Kyocera partner since 2010.

Which login your Kyocera uses

Check the age of the machine first, because the factory login Kyocera ships has changed over the years.

  1. Made from July 2025The newest machines

A unique password on a sticker

Kyocera Australia says each device made from July 2025 carries its own password, printed on a sticker under a cover or on the right hand side when you open the toner door.

A flyer in the box shows where to look, and Kyocera says the change covers both the System Menu on the machine and the Command Center RX web page.

  2. Many recent modelsBefore the unique sticker

User name Admin, password is the serial number

Kyocera’s Command Center RX User Guide gives Admin as the administrator user name and the machine’s serial number as the password.

Type both exactly as shown, because the login is case sensitive.

  3. Older modelsEarlier firmware

    Admin and Admin

Older Kyocera operation guides, such as the one for the ECOSYS P2335dw, list Admin as both the user name and the password.

If that fails, someone may have changed it already, or the machine may use one of the newer schemes above.

The panel on the machine itself can use a different login again, so read the next section before you guess.

Two logins, in two different places

Most people searching for the password are standing in front of one of these screens.

The machine’s own panel

The System Menu on the touch screen, used for settings changed at the device.

On many models the factory login here is a number tied to the model, and the TASKalfa 2554ci operation guide lists 2500 as both user name and password, while the 3554ci lists 3500.

Command Center RX

Kyocera’s web page for the machine, opened by typing its IP address into a browser on the same network.

This is where the address book, scan destinations and network settings are managed, and it uses the Admin login from the list above.

Why a factory password is worth changing

Anyone on your office network who knows a factory login can open the administrator settings, where scans are routed and the address book is kept.

Kyocera Australia recommends changing the password to one of your own, following the operation guide for your model.

There is an Australian reason newer machines ship differently, too.

The Cyber Security (Security Standards for Smart Devices) Rules 2025 started on 4 March 2026 and ban universal default passwords on smart devices within their scope.

Those rules are aimed at devices made for personal or household use, but Kyocera Australia says it moved to unique passwords to align with them.

How the change is usually made

  1. Open Command Center RX in a browser and log in with the administrator user name.
  2. Find the Admin account in the local user list and edit its password.
  3. Store the new password where the next office manager can find it.

Menu names differ between models and firmware, so treat the operation guide for your machine as the final word.

Locked out of the admin menu?

Kyocera’s own Command Center RX guide sends a forgotten administrator password to your dealer or service centre.

If the machine is on a lease with us, call 1300 873 460 before anyone tries a reset.

If you bought the machine elsewhere, Kyocera’s Australian helpline is 135 962, option 3, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm local time.

Kyocera admin password questions

What is the default password for a Kyocera printer?

It depends on the age of the machine.

Devices made from July 2025 have a unique password on a sticker, many recent models use Admin with the serial number, and older models often use Admin for both.

Where is the password sticker on a new Kyocera?

Kyocera Australia says it sits under a cover, or on the right hand side when you open the toner door.

The flyer packed in the box shows the spot for your model.

What is Command Center RX?

It is Kyocera’s web page for managing the machine, opened by typing the machine’s IP address into a browser.

It holds the address book, scan destinations and network settings.

What is the admin login for a TASKalfa 2554ci?

Its operation guide lists 2500 as both the panel user name and password.

For Command Center RX the guide gives Admin with the serial number, although older firmware may still accept Admin as the password.

I forgot the admin password. Can I reset it myself?

Kyocera’s guide says a forgotten administrator password is a job for your dealer or service centre.
