How much does it cost to lease a photocopier?
With us an office photocopier lease usually runs between $160 and $400 a month (plus GST).
Three things decide where you land.
How many pages a month
Volume is the single biggest lever on the monthly fee.
An office running 2,000 pages sits at the bottom of the range.
A practice running 20,000 pages needs a heavier engine and a bigger paper capacity, and the figure moves with it.
Mono only, or colour as well
Colour costs more to produce than mono, both in the device and in the toner it drinks.
Plenty of offices print mono all week and colour only for proposals, so a small colour allowance beats a full colour plan.
A4 only, or A3 as well
A4 covers most day to day office printing.
Plans, drawings, menus, spreadsheets and booklets need A3, and an A3 multifunction device carries a higher base cost than an A4 one.

Do I need a managed print service?
If you run one machine, a lease with toner and service inside it is already doing the job.

Q.01How much does it cost to lease a photocopier in Australia?+

Most offices we quote land between $160 and $400 a month (plus GST) once volume, colour and paper size are settled.
Every plan carries genuine toner, drums, parts, service labour and call outs, so paper is the only thing you keep buying.
Pages past your agreed volume are billed at the cost per copy named in your quote, so there is nothing to discover later.
Q.02What does it mean to lease a photocopier?+
You take the machine for an agreed lease term, usually 36 to 60 months, and pay a monthly fee rather than buying it outright.
Here that monthly fee also carries the toner, the drums and parts, the on site service labour and the call outs, so the machine stays supported for the whole term.
At the end you hand it back or move to a newer device.
You never own it, which is the point, because the replacement is our problem rather than yours.
Q.03Is it cheaper to buy or lease a photocopier?+
Buying is cheaper only if you compare the purchase price to the lease payments and stop there.
Once you add toner, drums, parts, service labour, call outs and eventual replacement, the totals move much closer together, and the lease has spread them evenly instead of landing them in lumps.
A lease also keeps you on current technology and is generally deductible as a business operating expense.

Q.04Is leasing a photocopier a good idea for a small business?+
For most small businesses, yes, because it protects cash flow and removes the maintenance risk.
There is nothing to pay upfront, the monthly invoice is the same every month, and a breakdown is our cost rather than an unbudgeted bill.
Where it is the wrong answer is a very low print volume or a horizon under a year.
In that case a small device bought outright is the better fit.
Q.05What is the difference between leasing and renting a photocopier?+
A lease is a fixed term of 36 to 60 months, and the longer commitment is what pulls the monthly figure down.
A rental, also sold as printer hire, runs on the same 36 to 60 month terms with us.
Q.06Is there an auto renewal clause?+
No.A Global Document Solutions agreement contains no auto renew clause at all.
Once the fixed term is served the agreement drops to month to month until the machine goes back.
Nothing rolls over, so there is no notice window to diarise and no second term to argue about.
Q.07Can I upgrade my photocopier lease during the contract period?+
Machines are changed at the end of the term.
If your volume outgrows the machine, or you start needing colour or A3, tell us and we will put your options in writing.
Q.08How quickly can a leased photocopier be installed?+
The quote comes back in writing, usually inside a business day.
After signing, delivery and installation are booked to suit your office rather than our run sheet.
