The short answer

Copier and photocopier repairs for Gold Coast offices

If your copier or multifunction photocopier is on a GDS lease, a technician comes to your Gold Coast office to repair it.

A copier prints, copies and scans in one box.

So a fault can sit in the printing parts, the scanner or the document feeder, and each one shows up differently on the page.

The document feeder is the tray on top that pulls a stack of pages through one at a time.

Your monthly lease figure already pays for the visit, the technician’s labour and the parts, and we try to be there the next day.

Is the copier leased elsewhere, or owned outright?

Phone 1300 873 460 before arranging anything, and you will get a clear yes or no on whether we can come out to it.

What goes wrong

Copier faults, and what each one usually means

Some of these are plain wear, the kind photocopier servicing picks up before it stops the machine.

Faults 01 and 02 in the list below both start in the document feeder on top of the copier.
  1. 01

A line down every copy, but clean prints

The mark is on the scanning side, not the printing side.

When copies go through the document feeder, a speck on the narrow strip of glass beside the main glass is the usual cause.

  2. 02

The document feeder jams or takes two sheets at once

Feeder rollers wear smooth with use and lose their grip.

Stapled, creased or damp originals can jam any feeder, so rule those out first.

  3. 03

Scan to email or scan to folder has stopped

The usual trigger is a changed password, or some other change your IT people made to the network.

Usually nothing has broken, and the saved settings no longer match.

  4. 04

Faded, streaky or marked pages on prints and copies

When prints and copies both show it, something inside the copier has worn.

The drum lays the image down and the fuser melts the toner into the sheet, and one of those two is the usual suspect.

  5. 05

A fault code on the screen

Note the code and include it when you contact us.

A code can point us to the right part before the technician leaves the workshop.

Give us the model and the symptoms

Read the model name off the front of the copier.

Say whether the fault shows on prints, on copies or on both.

  2. 02

    We say what it needs

We come back to you with one of three answers: a visit, a part, or time for a new copier.

  3. 03

A technician comes to your office

Next day is what we aim for, wherever we can.

Whatever can be sorted on site is sorted then.

  4. 04

On a lease, nothing more to pay

Call out, labour and parts are inside the monthly figure on every GDS lease.

Repair or replace

Is the copier worth repairing?

A copier with years of pages behind it is a different machine from a new one.

The answer turns on what has gone wrong and on the copier’s page count to date.

Give us both and you get a straight view, even when that view is to keep the copier running.

When replacement is the sensible move, a GDS lease bundles the copier with its toner, parts, repairs, labour and call outs for one set monthly figure.

Our photocopier lease page explains how that works.

Common questions

Questions people ask about copier repairs

Do you repair photocopiers on the Gold Coast?

Yes.

Technicians travel to Gold Coast offices from our Bethania workshop.

A copier leased from GDS is covered, and if yours is not, phone before you book.

Is a copier the same as a photocopier or a multifunction printer?

In an office, yes.

All three names describe one machine that prints, copies and scans.

For a plain printer with no scanner, see our printer repair service.

How much does a copier repair cost?

That comes down to the fault and the part, so ring and ask about your copier.

Lease customers are not charged for the repair.

How soon can someone come out?

The next day, whenever that is possible.

Offices with heavy volumes or several sites can have their own response times written into the agreement.

What do you need from me when I ring?

The copier’s model, a description of the fault, and the code on the screen if there is one.

It also helps to know whether the fault appears on prints, on copies or on both.

Do you service copiers as well as repair them?

Yes.

Planned servicing replaces parts when they fall due, so fewer faults turn into a repair.

Is the copier out of action?

Let us know the model, and say if the trouble shows on prints, on copies or on both.

Someone answers the phone on weekdays, 8.30am until 7pm.

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
